Short description
Born in Florianópolis, Brazil, Arthur Chaves, who has German ancestors and whose mother's maiden name is Zimmermann, learnt to play football in his home town at Avaí FC. In August 2022, the 1.88-metre centre-back made the move to Europe and joined Portuguese second division club Académico Viseu. His move to TSG Hoffenheim in 2024 not only saw him make the leap into a top league, but the defender quickly secured a permanent place in the professional squad thanks to his uncompromising and energetic style of play.
