TSG, Town and SWEG present new traffic concept – adjusted parking fees starting with the Wolfsburg match

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim, the Town of Sinsheim and Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs GmbH (SWEG) have held constructive talks about the future management of traffic around the PreZero Arena for TSG home games and agreed on a new traffic concept, which has become necessary. This primarily includes the optimisation of the departure times of the surrounding buses and an adjustment to the fee for parking around the stadium in Sinsheim.

TSG had already announced prior to the opening Bundesliga game against SC Freiburg that they would present coordinated solutions in cooperation with the Town of Sinsheim and SWEG by the time of the next home match against VfL Wolfsburg (Saturday 2 September, 15:30 CET at the PreZero Arena) in order to manage the heavy traffic flows around the stadium more effectively in the long term. This has become urgently necessary, not least due to future DFL licensing requirements.

In a comprehensive mobility survey, but also in discussions with the TSG Hoffenheim Fan Council, the main desire that was expressed was for the lasting optimisation of shuttle traffic to and from towns in the surrounding area.

As a consequence of the consultations with SWEG and Palatina, the post-match departure times were adjusted accordingly. Two fixed departure times were decided upon:

For home games at 15:30 CET:

  • First departure: 17:45 CET
  • Second departure: 18:30 CET

In addition, starting from the Wolfsburg game, so-called booster buses will be in operation on almost all lines and will run additionally depending on the traffic volume. The timetables (including the booster buses in operation on the respective lines) and an overview of the respective lines can be found in good time on the TSG homepage. In addition, these will always be published on our homepage (tsg-hoffenheim.de) one or two days before a match.

If you are travelling by car, we recommend using the free Freibad car park (Schwimmbadweg) or the "Parkhaus Dr.-Sieber-Halle" car park (or other car parks) and the shuttle bus from Sinsheim/Elsenz railway station to the PreZero Arena. This runs every 15 minutes and is free of charge too. You will find an overview of all parking spaces here.

The parking fees directly around the PreZero Arena will be adjusted to 10 from the Wolfsburg match onwards. TSG, the Town of Sinsheim and the police have agreed on this. This price adjustment is necessary to reduce the extreme traffic flows around the stadium as much as possible, to minimise the recurring tailbacks onto the A6 motorway and thus the risk of accidents, and to encourage as many people as possible to travel by public transport which has now also become significantly more appealing thanks to the new joint traffic concept.

TSG Hoffenheim are still in open discussions with the respective representatives and are primarily working on further aligning the public transport processes with the interests of the fans.
