Wins for Beier & Bischof, Grillitsch on verge of EURO qualification

Twelve TSG players were away with their national teams over the international period. Tom Bischof shone as the Germany U19 captain, while Maximilian Beier also claimed an international win at youth level. Florian Grillitsch won with Austria in Sweden and is now very close to EURO qualification. tsg-hoffenheim.de looks back at the games involving TSG players.

The Germany U19s produced an outstanding performance in their 6-1 win over Switzerland, with TSG player Tom Bischof performing particularly well in the first half. The 18-year-old scored a goal and notched two assists before being substituted off at half-time along with most of his team-mates.

Maximilian Beier and the Germany U21s laboured for a long time against Kosovo but comfortably won 3-0 in the end. Beier wore the captain's armband in the second half and played 82 minutes in total.

Florian Grillitsch's Austria picked up an important win in their EURO qualifying campaign in Sweden. The 3-1 victory, in which the TSG midfielder played a part in the closing stages, increased their lead over the Swedes to seven points with three matches remaining. That makes qualification for the upcoming European Championships highly likely.

Ozan Kazak lost a friendly 4-2 to Japan with Türkiye, but he did still get on the scoresheet. Diadie Samassékou was in the Ivory Coast with Mali but the game was called off due to heavy rain with the score at 0-0. Oliver Baumann was an unused substitute in Germany's 2-1 win against France.
