Away run over: TSG draw 1-1 in Augsburg

After five away victories on the bounce, TSG have failed to win an away match in the Bundesliga for the first time this season and drawn 1-1 (0-1) against FC Augsburg. After a good start, Wout Weghorst headed Hoffenheim into the lead following a cross from Marius Bülter (23). But TSG could not manage to extend their advantage in a dominant first half. FCA made them pay for that shortly after the interval and restored parity through Ermedin Demirovic's goal (53). After a long interruption, which became necessary due to the detonation of a firecracker, the second half became very disjointed. Augsburg had the better chances in the closing stages but a strong Oliver Baumann helped his team hold onto the draw.

Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo made one change to the starting line-up compared to the 3-2 loss against Leverkusen: the injured Robert Skov was replaced by Ihlas Bebou on the right flank.

Weghorst forces Uduokhai into a misplaced pass and Prömel gets the ball on the edge of the box. The TSG midfielder goes past an Augsburg player and then gets a shot away with his left foot, but his shot at goal is too central and can be repelled by Dahmen.

Demirovic levels the scores

Demirovic beats Kabak, Bebou and Becker and then pulls the trigger from a centre-left position. The shot takes a slight deflection off Vogt and then flies right into the corner.

The first big chance after the long interruption falls to FCA: Engels cuts back to Demirovic, who shoots from close range. Baumann gets his hand up and keeps his team on level terms.
