TSG to welcome FC Metz for the season opener

TSG Hoffenheim's big season opening events is on 9 August. The last friendly before the competitive season kicks off with a DFB-Pokal clash away to Hansa Rostock will be against French Ligue 1 club FC Metz. Kick-off at the PreZero Arena is scheduled for 16:30 CEST. There will be a dazzling entertainment show prior to the game, and after the final whistle, you will have the chance to get up close to the TSG pros at the autograph session.

It has become a cherished tradition: shortly before the start of the new season, TSG Hoffenheim welcome an international opponent to their home stadium for the grand season opener. This year, FC Metz from France are coming to the Kraichgau, and the match will be the final warm-up for Christian Ilzer's team before the 2025/26 season. Kick-off is schedule for 16:30 CEST.

The two-time French cup winners are coming to Sinsheim with momentum on their side, having secured promotion to Ligue 1 in the play-offs. Metz have had several famous players wear their maroon jersey: Sadio Mané, Robert Pires, Miralem Pjanic and Franck Ribéry, among others, played for the 1996 French League Cup winners during their careers.
