Dabbur: "The team have a desire to play football"

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 5-1 win against FC Schalke 04.

Dennis Geiger: "Today we showed from the beginning that we wanted to win. We took an early lead and added to that quickly too. As a result, the match was actually already decided by the break. It's simply fun playing football at the moment. When we get into a roll, we're very good. But it'll be a different match entirely against FC Bayern on Saturday."

Munas Dabbur: "I think we played a good game together as a team. I'm totally happy that I was able to help the team again today. We have a lot of quality on the pitch; the team simply has a desire to play football. The early 1-0 then naturally made it easier as well. It was just really good fun today. I feel a great sense of trust from the coaching staff. It'll definitely be a completely different match against Bayern on Saturday. It's always incredibly difficult against Munich, but we go into every game to win it."

André Breitenreiter: "It was a really good performance from my team today. They implemented what we wanted to show almost perfectly on the pitch. We wanted to keep the opponent far from our goal, press them very intensely and hunt them down early. As a result, we quickly forced Schalke into errors and created lots of chances – and today we scored some very nice goals too. There's little for me to criticise. We're looking forward to the last 16 in the New Year and want to go on the attack again then."

Frank Kramer (FC Schalke 04 coach): "Today, we didn't at all show the virtues and the side of ourselves that we want and need to. That's why we very quickly fell behind. We didn't contest any challenges whatsoever. I am almost speechless about how defenceless we were in this game. TSG obviously played it very well, but our performance is a puzzle to me. We were played off the park today. We let the club and the fans down today."
