Akpoguma: "The performance was outstanding"

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the impressive 2-0 win over RB Leipzig.

Kevin Akpoguma: "The performance was outstanding today – from every player. We were very tough in the tackle against Leipzig and held our own. We wanted to use our possession turnovers to get in behind the back line quickly. We managed to do that well. It's fun to have this more attack-minded role that I'm currently allowed to play in."

David Raum: "Today we showed how unpleasant we can be to face. We went into the challenges aggressively from the first minute. That enabled us to create some good chances and pick up a totally deserved victory. My feeling is that it was our best performance of the season so far."

Chris Richards: "It was a fantastic match. It feels good to extend our home run. We were in the game from the off and produced a strong performance. It was our best display of the season. We prepared ourselves superbly."

Munas Dabbur: "The goal for 2-0 was exactly part of our plan. We wanted to put Leipzig under pressure and win the ball back quickly. We strikers were in perfect harmony with the midfielders. We gave everything from the first minute and showed an immediate presence. The entire team performed superbly. I'm naturally delighted with my goal, but the most important thing is that we won. We now want to build on the victory and win again next week."

Sebastian Hoeness: "From the first whistle, we did the things on the pitch that we had set out to do. We were aggressive and didn't let Leipzig settle into their game. The intense style of play really helped us. The only shortcoming was our chance conversion. But we don't want to be too greedy and are happy to have beaten a top-team in the Bundesliga. We need to build on this."

Jesse Marsch (RB Leipzig coach): "It was a deserved victory for Hoffenheim. They played better in every phase of the game and showed more desire. I cannot explain that. We weren't ready for this match. We need to learn from this and show better performances.
