Kramarić: "We showed character"

Here's what the players and coach had to say after the outstanding 3-2 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Oliver Baumann: "The last two games were not exactly bad, but we needed to do more going forward. We did the basics okay in the first half, but the finishing was missing again. And again we let in two goals that we shouldn't have. We weren't prepared to stand for that. We were angry at half-time because we'd played well but were 2-0 down. We didn't want to accept that. Then we played an incredible second half and deserved to win."

Florian Grillitsch: "We were totally delighted in the dressing room. We played a good game for the full 90 minutes, even if we were 2-0 down at half-time – though Gladbach definitely couldn't believe their luck about that. Because we'd dominated the game, but couldn't convert that into goals. We said in the break that we needed to get a reward for our effort. The coach gave us the final push. And we won completely deservedly in the end."

Andrej Kramarić: "These were three very important points today. The other teams below us all won. It wasn't easy after going 2-0 down, but we believed in ourselves and showed character. I'm proud of the team and very happy. We want to build on this performance in Freiburg."

Chris Richards: "We have produced good performances against Leverkusen and Leipzig over the last week. After going in 2-0 down at the break, we analysed what we'd gotten wrong in the opening 45 minutes. Things worked better afterwards. We got three goals and deserved the win."

Sebastian Hoeness: "We also produced a good performance in the first 45 minutes. The scoreline was a joke at that point. We needed to show a tad more conviction in front of goal. The lads believed in themselves the whole time and things really got going after it went to 2-1. We played a good game for the full 90 minutes. The two goals we conceded are the only thing that bothers us today. It was a highly deserved victory that was crowned with three goals in the second half. The win was very emotional today. I'm very proud of the lads. We have a difficult game against a rested Freiburg side on Saturday. We need to build on this performance then."

Marco Rose (Borussia Mönchengladbach coach): "We wanted to win today and build on our successful run, but we deserved to lose. The lads played to their limit in the English week. But unfortunately we couldn't make up any ground in the table today. We need to work on our performance so we get a better result in our upcoming games."
