However, after the problems continued to slow down the defender and he complained of persistent pain, surgery was performed on the injured ankle to stabilise a torn ligament before the weekend. The operation went very well, meaning that "Hubi" is optimistic about being able to start work on his comeback. "My eyes are on being able to aggressively prepare for the upcoming season," said Hübner.

The defensive specialist has been in Hoffenheim since the summer of 2016 and has played almost 100 competitive matches for TSG.
