Bebou: ''We have things to put right''

After Union Berlin comes Slovan Liberec: just three days after the defeat to Union Berlin, TSG Hoffenheim are set to host Slovan Liberec on Matchday 3 of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday. Kick-off in the PreZero Arena is scheduled for 21:00 CET. In advance of the clash with the Czech club, tsg-hoffenheim.de spoke to Ihlas Bebou about the opposition, the physical strain of the past weeks and the Europa League campaign thus far.

Ihlas, just three days after the match against Union you're now hosting Slovan Liberec in the UEFA Europa League. How are you dealing with the physical strain of the past few weeks?

''This double load is new for a lot of us. But we have it under control. The results in the Europa League show as much. The coach has done a good job of rotating, which means we can always play at 100 percent.''

You've picked up six points from your two group-stage matches thus far. What makes you optimistic about getting a third win on Thursday?

''We have things to put right after the Union game. We want to show our strengths out on the pitch again. We're obviously looking to pick up another win in the Europa League. With nine points to our name, things would be looking really good for the knock-out phase.''

Liberec won their opening group game against Gent but went on to lose 5-1 to Red Star Belgrade last week. What are you expecting from Thursday's game?

''They will demand everything of us. They played well against Gent and managed to pick up a surprise win. We know that we'll have to give it our all if we want to keep the points in Hoffenheim. A win is our clear goal.''

Although things have been going well in Europe, you've failed to pick up a win in your last four Bundesliga matches. Why have you been so successful in the Europa League while struggling somewhat domestically?

''I can't give an exact answer to that. Not everything has been going according to plan, but we're on the right track. Over time, things will work out in the Bundesliga. I'm very confident about that.''
