Baumann: ''A needless defeat''

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 2-1 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Oliver Baumann: ''I don't feel good about that, it was a needless defeat. We played really well in the first half. We didn't give much away, we had lots of good moments and we created several good chances. Then, in the second half, Frankfurt were harder to deal with. That being said, we started giving the ball away too cheaply and that gave them chances to launch counter-attacks from midfield. We made it too easy for them. It's frustrating.''

Kevin Vogt: ''I'm annoyed about the result and the way it came about. We went in at the break with a good feeling, but the momentum shifted in Frankfurt's favour in the second half. We weren't able to keep Eintracht at bay. It's frustrating that the second half turned out the way it did.''

Alexander Rosen: ''We needed a bit of time to really find our way into the game in the first half. Then we defended well and had a lot of sharpness to our game. We deserved to take the lead. Coming out of the dressing room at half-time, we had hoped things would go differently. We made too many mistakes. That's why we ended up losing the game today.''

Sebastian Hoeness: ''We didn't get off to a good start in either half. Frankfurt were able to take advantage of that after half-time. It's a needless defeat for us. We conceded the decisive goal in our best phase of the second half. That was a real slap in the face for us. I can't blame the team. We threw everything we had at them after going down 2-1, but unfortunately it wasn't enough.

Adi Hütter (Eintracht Frankfurt head coach): ''I thought the win was fully deserved. We came out very well after the break and were able to dictate the game. The second half in particular was a lot of fun. Our objective today was to beat Hoffenheim and overtake them in the table. We're league leaders at the moment, but that won't last forever.''
