Donation campaign for warm bus at Bayern game

Since January 2021, a warm bus for Heidelberg and the Rhine-Neckar district has been running all year round. This project is run in cooperation with the Maltesers, and the bus itself was donated by the Dietmar Hopp Foundation. All staff members work on a voluntary basis and the project is financed exclusively through donation. Those who use the warm bus include homeless people, the socially disadvantaged and the elderly. For many people, the warming bus offers the first meal of the day, the first conversation, the first piece of social contact. In addition to hot meals, a little human warmth is also shared around.

Currently, the number of needy people coming to us in the Rhine-Neckar region is increasing. Now, shortly before winter, sleeping bags and sleeping mats are in short supply, as are, unfortunately, all the other essential items that people need.

On 22 October, the warm bus will be on display in the event area in front of the PreZero Arena with the support of TSG Hoffenheim. Donations may be made from 13:00 CET until the start of the match. Items needed are:

• Blankets, sleeping bags, sleeping mats (please no clothing donations)
• Tinned food (e.g. soups, fish, relishes, tinned bread)
  
• Sweets, cough lozenges, muesli bars, long-life spreads
• Hygiene articles (e.g. roll-on deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, disinfectant, feminine hygiene articles, plasters, cream, wet wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste)
• Drinks (0.5l drinks bottles, 1.5l mineral water, tetra-pack juice, cocoa, milk), instant coffee, tea
• Dog food (small food containers, wet food cans, treats)
