Skov: "Hertha were the more clinical team"

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 3-0 defeat to Hertha BSC.

Benjamin Hübner: "The 3-0 scoreline was excessive. I think we played some good football, but unfortunately we lose too easily. Anyone who knows our team knows we're missing absolutely top strikers at the moment. Unfortunately, having players out injured has been a problem for us throughout the season. That makes it difficult. Playing without spectators is incomparable. It's important that we're back playing; that people can watch and enjoy football again. But it's completely different from a full stadium and the emotions that the spectators bring about."

Robert Skov: "Hertha waited for our mistakes and exploited them mercilessly. It became a very difficult game after we went 2-0 down. Hertha were the more clinical team today; we need to work on that in our upcoming matches."

Oliver Baumann: "It actually wasn't a bad performance from us; we showed courage too. We didn't lose our composure, it was generally okay after one week of team training. But then we just collapsed too easily, we cracked. Then it became 0-2 relatively quickly. We kept trying, but we were lacking penetration. We weren't as ruthless in front of the goal. Had we managed to pull a goal back, it would have been exciting again. But it wasn't meant to be. It's a fact that we concede too many goals. If you want to compete at the top, it's crucial to defend well and concede as few goals as possible. That game was a blow for us."

Alfred Schreuder: "It doesn't feel good when you lose a home game 3-0. It was a bit like the home game against Gladbach this season. We dominated the match for the most part and had a few opportunities to put ourselves 1-0 ahead, but we didn't manage it. We made a good start to the second period too, but we didn't take our chances. I think that we were still in the game even after we had fallen 2-0 behind and could've pulled it back to 2-1. The game was only over once it became 3-0. The lads performed well for 70 minutes after what was a long break. But we weren't very good at either end, unfortunately. Both in their penalty area and ours."

Bruno Labbadia (Hertha BSC coach): "We didn't know where we stood after the long break and the change of coach. The team needed this victory for their self-confidence. I'm very happy that we picked up the three points. It wouldn't be correct to say that we expected it. We didn't know where we stood. The team performed very well. We wanted to lay some foundations. The team also needed the win. We mustn't forget what has occurred within the club and the team over the course of the past few weeks. The victory will help us for the coming weeks."
