Furious fightback earns TSG a point at BVB

There were spectacular, dramatic and incredible scenes on Matchday 21 as TSG fought back from three goals down in the closing stages to claim a point at Borussia Dortmund. Ishak Belfodil (two) and Pavel Kaderabek got the goals against the league leaders.

Personnel & tactics:

Julian Nagelsmann made four changes to the starting XI that drew 1-1 against Fortuna Düsseldorf last time out. Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann was protected by a back three consisting of Benjamin Hübner and Ermin Bicakcic, who both returned to the defence, alongside Stefan Posch. Kevin Vogt was sidelined with injury. Pavel Kaderabek replaced Joshua Brenet at right wing-back, while Nico Schulz started on the opposite flank.

Leonardo Bittencourt returned to the starting XI to face his former club. He was joined in midfield by Florian Grillitsch and Kerem Demirbay. Joelinton and Andrej Kramaric formed the attacking partnership.

Nagelsmann made two changes at the interval, replacing Demirbay and Kramaric with Dennis Geiger and Ishak Belfodil respectively. The third and final substitution came in the 70th minute as Bittencourt made way for Reiss Nelson.

Moment of the match:

The late leveller. Ishak Belfodil rewarded TSG for their historic fightback by scoring his second goal of the game to secure a point for Hoffenheim.

The 3-3 draw means TSG Hoffenheim are now unbeaten in eight successive Bundesliga away games, equalling the previous club record.
