U14s & U13s run for a good cause

Players, coaches and staff at TSG have taken part in a sponsored run to raise money for the important research work carried out by the National Centre for Tumour Diseases (NCT), an institute based in the city of Heidelberg. It was a charity event that proved to be a lot of fun for all the participants involved.

A total of 5,100 runners gathered at the new NCT building at Neuenheimer Feld in Heidelberg last Friday to take part in the run, with the aim being to complete as many of the 2,700-metre laps as possible. Among them were 17 players, coaches and staff from the TSG U14s and U13s, the TSG Academy and the TSG Soccer School. They completed an impressive 60 laps, thus raising €227. That donation was subsequently upped to €450 by Hoffenheim.

For Marlena Hillig, who works as a supervisor at the TSG Soccer School and organised the club's participation in the sponsored run, it was an extremely successful occasion: "It was an incredibly awesome event that was organised brilliantly by the NCT. We all had a lot of fun, were highly motivated and are now already looking forward to next year."
