TSG draw for fourth time in a row

TSG remain unbeaten but also winless in their first four games of the 16/17 Bundesliga season. Andrej kramaric gave Hoffenheim the lead just after the break but his goal was wiped out by a Darmstadt equaliser in stoppage time.

Personnel and tactics:

Without the injured Niklas Süle, TSG lined up against Darmstadt with Oliver Baumann in goal, a defensive line of Ermin Bicakcic and Kevin Vogt at centre-back, Sebastian Rudy at right-back and Pavel Kaderabek on the opposite flank. In midfield, Eugen Polanski was the holding midfielder with Kerem Demirbay and Nadiem Amiri just ahead of him. Up front, Hoffenheim lined up exactly as they did against Wolfsburg with Mark Uth, Andrej Kramaric and Sandro Wagner, who was returning to his old employers.

Shortly after the change of ends, TSG made their first sub as goal scorer Kramaric was replaced by Eduardo Vargas in the 54th minute. After 62 minutes, Nagelsmann swapped Jeremy Toljan for Polanski which meant Rudy moved into midfield and Toljan went to right-back. The last change was made in the 72nd minute as Lukas Rupp came on for Amiri.

Moment of the match:

It can only be the great re-start after the break. TSG has kick-off, attack straight away, the ball came to Rudy on the right-hand side, he then found Kramaric in space at the edge of the 18 yard box and the Croat made no mistake with a left-foot drive into the bottom corner.

The number of the game: 4

Unfortunately, it has to be the number 4. For the fourth time this Bundesliga season, TSG play out a draw, even though they came so close to clinching their first win of the season.
