Bicakcic hopes, Kaderabek blunders, Amiri wins

Three TSG players were in international action on Saturday evening. Nadiem Amiri played in the Elite Cup with the U20s, while Ermin Bicakcic and Pavel Kaderabek featured for Bosnia and the Czech Republic in the European Championship qualifiers.

For Kaderabek and the Czechs, it didn’t all go to plan as they lost to an already qualified Turkey side 2-0 in Prague. This was a setback in the race for top spot in the group, as Iceland had opened the door earlier in the evening by drawing 2-2 with Latvia.

The Hoffenheim man played all 90 minutes, but couldn’t prevent the goals from the penalty spot or from Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu. On the final day of the qualification round on Tuesday, the Czech Republic face the Netherlands.

Bosnia & Bicakcic get the win

Ermin Bicakcic had to wait for his chance on the bench against Wales in Bosnia’s hugely important 2-0 victory, but he was substituted on after 89 minutes. Milan Djuric and Vedad Ibisevic got the goals for Bosnia on the evening. After Israel lost at home to Cyprus, Bosnia jumped to third place in Group B with the three points.

Bosnia can secure third place with a win against Cyprus on Tuesday, which would take them to the play-offs, as Sejad Salihovic returns to the squad. Israel will play Belgium on the night. They have 13 points, while Bosnia are one ahead on 14.

Amiri plays 45 Minutes

Nadiem Amiri was substituted at half time in the U20s Elite cup game against the Netherlands. Frank Wormuth’s team came out with the upper hand, getting a hard earned 2-1 victory in Aalen.

Thilo Kehrer put Germany 1-0 up before Stokkers equalised from the penalty spot. After the break it was Boubacar Barry who popped up to put the U20s into the lead. Having won two in a row, Germany can win the competition if they beat England on Tuesday in Heidenheim. England, however, have beaten Germany on the last two occasions.
