Stuttgart match reaction

Markus Gisdol: We put up a great fight today. The team showed a tough side that you wouldn't usually associate with them. To be honest, even I haven't seen them play like that before. They battled until the final whistle. We increased the pressure on Stuttgart over the final 20 minutes and played the better football. If you score an injury-time winner that's always a bit lucky, but we earned it. We're really happy.

Huub Stevens: I'm incredibly disappointed about losing the game in injury time. The lads back in the changing room are gutted as well. Now we have to find a way to put this behind us.

Ermin Bicakcic: We gave it our all over the full 90 minutes and deserved to win in the end. Of course we were aware of Stuttgart's qualities and knew we would have to be vigilant. I think we played a level-headed game and had a good strategy in place. Even, or perhaps especially after the equaliser, we fought hard and had our hearts and minds set on still winning the game.

Kevin Volland: I'm still out of breath, but I can live with that. That victory was amazing and it feels great. We had more concrete chances than VfB and I think at the end of the day we deserved to win.

Sebastian Rudy: We wanted to attack, but only managed to do so over parts of the game. We should have wrapped up the result earlier in the second half. It was a great feeling to be able to help the team with that goal in the last minute.

Oliver Baumann: The victory is great for us. After Sebastian Rudy scored, I wanted to join the celebration with a sprint, but I had to stop because I was so tired. We were much better in the second half and had plenty of opportunities to score a second. Overall, we put up a good fight and got stuck into every tackle. After a hard week's training, this is a sweet reward.

Alexander Rosen: I'm happy and relieved. In the end, we deserved to win and we're really happy that luck was on our side today. The team's hard work has finally paid off. We created a lot of chances and fortunately were finally able to convert our last one. Sebastian rewarded himself for his efforts today. He played really well and took his opportunity.
