Winter schedule: Training in South Africa – friendly against Brà¸ndby IF

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have six more games to play before the winter break. Their last game of the first half of the season is a trip to the capital to face Hertha BSC (21st December), before a 42-day break from competitive action – an away game against Augsburg on 1st February awaits them after the turn of the year.

Apart from a short break for Christmas and New Year, Kevin Volland, Andreas Beck, Roberto Firmino & Co. will be working hard during that 42-day period. On 7th January, the TSG squad head to South Africa for a ten-day winter training camp. Markus Gisdol's side will be based in Sandton, part of Johannesburg, and will be making use of the facilities that the Slovenia national team used during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

South Africa was chosen as the base for the camp due to the climatic conditions, the fact that there is no time difference and the possibility of night travel, thus maximising training time. TSG will play friendlies against teams from the South African Premier Soccer League on 11th and 16th January. Further details regarding those matches will be announced in due course.

After returning to Germany, preparations enter a key face. On Thursday, 22nd January, TSG face Danish club Brà¸ndby IF in a friendly in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena. The game kicks off at 14:30 CET.
