Pre-match facts: TSG vs. SC Freiburg

On Saturday (August 24th, 15:30 CET), TSG meet SC Freiburg in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena. After their 5-1 win over Hamburger SV last week, Hoffenheim are in the hunt for their first home win of the season.

With four points from their two opening games, TSG have started the campaign in decent fashion. More impressive than their points haul is Hoffenheim's number of goals. It's the first time in the club's Bundesliga history that they have scored seven goals in their first two league matches.

For statistic lovers, here are all the facts and figures ahead of the match between TSG and SC Freiburg:

Did you know that…

…TSG have put an impressive run together over the past weeks and months?

Since their 2-1 win at Borussia Dortmund on the final matchday last season, TSG have been riding a wave of success. There have been five wins and one draw in the last six competitive matches. Only once before have Hoffenheim put a longer undefeated run together: Between April and September 2010 they went nine games without losing.

…Roberto Firmino's good form has seen him produce some staggering statistics?

Not only has the Brazilian scored four goals in the three competitive matches so far this season, but he has also assisted seven – giving him eleven scorer-points (goals + assists). No other Bundesliga player has a record like that this season.

…Anthony Modeste has scored in each of TSG's competitive matches so far this campaign?

The Frenchman scored two goals in the cup match against SG Aumund-Vegesack, and one against 1. FC Nürnberg. Last weekend, the new signing from SC Bastia also found the back of the net twice.
