Exclusive autograph signing with Rudy and Williams

Around 100 Hoffenheim supporters were privileged enough to be at an intimate autograph signing with two of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's first team squad yesterday. German U21 international Sebastian Rudy and USA midfielder Daniel Williams were the lucky team members to be invited to share an up-close-and-personal chat with the fans.

In a similar initiative to last year, when fans were given the opportunity to meet defenders Andreas Ibertsberger and captain Andreas Beck, the venue was a specially rented train. After a quick greeting, the players moved from carriage to carriage, sat with the fans and signed autographs. “It's brilliant that they've taken the time out for us today”, said excited Hoffenheim follower Alexander. “It's strange because there is normally a distance between the players and the fans when you watch them on TV. Now we see that isn't always the case.” Another lucky supporter, Saskia, was also delighted to see her heroes. “At first I was quite nervous, but that disappeared pretty quickly. It was really great to get to know the players.”

When the train pulled into Eberbach station and the passengers alighted, a group picture was taken. “We feel it's very important to be close to the fans”, said midfielder Williams. “Events like these are always great to get to know some of them in a relaxed environment.” And his midfield partner Rudy echoed those sentiments: “We all had a lot of fun!”
