TSG lose in Bochum

TSG Hoffenheim suffered a 3-2 (2-0) loss away to VfL Bochum. Bochum took their precarious situation in the table in their stride and clearly set the tone in the first half. Kevin Stöger put the home side ahead with a direct free-kick (34), before Felix Passlack increased the lead shortly before the break (45+2). Bochum pressed for the third goal, which they then scored through Stöger in the 64th minute. TSG only woke up after that, with Andrej Kramarić bringing TSG back into the game with a remarkable brace (74/84). However, it came too little too late to take anything home from Bochum.

Line-up

Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo opted for the same starting XI from the 4-3 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend.

The scenario

TSG came into the match placed ninth in the table, VfL Bochum found themselves down in 15th.

Moment of the match

After TSG drew to within a goal at 3-2, a promising counter-attack was whistled back for an alleged foul by Ihlas Bebou. It was a blatantly false decision that robbed TSG of a real chance to equalise late on.

Number of the game: 36

TSG conceded 36 shots against VfL Bochum - too many to bring points home from the Ruhr.

Outlook

TSG Hoffenheim will kick off the matchday again next week when they host RB Leipzig. Kick-off at the PreZero Arena is scheduled for 20:30 CET on Friday.
