Quarshie and Conté train with the first team
"It was, is and shall remain TSG's approach that we consistently focus on discovering talented youngsters in order to carefully build them up and continue their development step-by-step via our academy," said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen. "With both Bamba and Joshua having been allowed to train with the first team on many occasions in the past, we now want to give the boys the chance to showcase themselves over a longer period during our summer preparations. Both have earned that through their performances with the U23s. We will persevere with this philosophy and give more young players from our academy the chance to showcase themselves with the first team."
Joshua Quarshie moved to the Kraichgau from Rot-Weiß Essen and has been wearing a TSG shirt since summer 2022. The current Germany U19 international came on in the closing stages of TSG's home game against VfL Wolfsburg (2-1 defeat) on Matchday 19 last term and got his first taste of Bundesliga action. The 18-year-old central defender made 27 appearances for TSG's Regionalliga team last year.
Bambasé Conté has been playing in Hoffenheim since summer 2018 and has progressed through all the TSG youth teams since the U17s. The attacking player made 15 Regionalliga appearances last season, scoring four goals and assisting four more. The Germany U20 international player was part of the first-team squad for the away game in Wolfsburg in February 2022 but was an unused substitute.
