Asllani: "It's a special game for me"
Fisnik, how excited are you about your first friendly match in a TSG shirt after your loan spell?
“I’m extremely excited, it’s a special game for me against Elversberg. It’s a great feeling to be back. I had a wonderful year in Elversberg and will be seeing lots of friends. Nevertheless, I want to win the game, of course – as always.”
Have you already been in touch with your former teammates?
“I’ve already spoken to some of them on the phone and exchanged messages, and they’re also looking forward to seeing me again. It’ll definitely be cool, and we’ll certainly have time to talk after the game, but during the game, the focus will naturally be on the sport.”
The Elversberg team has changed over the summer – they have a new coach, who is well known in Hoffenheim (Vincent Wagner, former U23 coach, editor’s note). What do TSG need to prepare for?
“The team changes every year in Elversberg, but they always play well-organised football. I also know Vincent from Hoffenheim, so I know how he likes to play. They will look for lots of footballing solutions and put us under pressure. But it’s nothing we can’t handle, so I’m really looking forward to the game.”
At TSG, some players – including you – only started training this week, while Elversberg have been training for longer. Does that make a difference?
“Definitely. They’re already in full flow and have completed their training camp. Some of us are just getting started. That makes a difference too. But we still want to put in a good performance.”
