Hahn: "It's in our own hands"
André, on Saturday you will play host to TSG Hoffenheim. What sort of game are you expecting?
"I expect a very exciting and hard-fought game. It won't be easy because it's an important game for both teams. Hoffenheim are just one point ahead of us in the table. So our goal is to keep the three points in the WWK ARENA and go above TSG."
You used the international break to play a friendly against 1. FC Heidenheim. To what extent did the break do you good after the exhausting past few weeks?
"The break really did us some good after these exhausting weeks. The past few games have been very intense. We also had two days off last weekend so I got to spend plenty of time with my family. The friendly was important especially for the players who have not been involved as often recently, as well as for the young players and those who need some match practice after an injury. I was very pleased that we won the friendly against Heidenheim and I was able to help the team with my two goals."
You are currently six points above the relegation zone. How confident are you that you will stay up?
"I'm very confident because it's in our own hands. It doesn't help to look at our competitors. Instead, we are focusing on ourselves and will give everything we have in the remaining games. We want to secure our place in the division for next season as soon as possible."
This season, you have consistently fluctuated between success and disappointment. How do you explain the ups and downs of the season?
"Yes, that’s true. It's difficult to explain. In football, sometimes you go through ups and downs. We try our best in every game. Unfortunately, that's not always enough to get the victory. Nevertheless, I hope that we will be able to consistently bring our best performance on to the pitch for the next eight games. If so, I am positive that we will get a few more points."
