Vincenzo Grifo returns to TSG

Vincenzo Grifo will wear the TSG Hoffenheim shirt once more next season. The 25-year-old attacker joins from Borussia Mönchengladbach and has signed a deal until 2022. Grifo previously played for TSG between 2012 and 2014.

"You can't say enough about the technical ability, the intelligence and the firepower that Vince possesses," praised Alexander Rosen of TSG's fourth new addition to the squad. TSG's director of football is convinced that Grifo "will bring flexibility, reliabilty and quality from set-pieces to the squad". After the final details to his contract were made last Friday, Grifo underwent a medical successfully on Monday.

Vincenzo Grifo himself is looking forward to his return to the club: "It feels like I'm coming home. I remember my first Bundesliga game in the Rhein-Neckar-Arena well. I can hardly describe how excited I am to get going again here next season. Since I've left, the club has continued to develop. Ahead of us lies a tough year full of challenges. I'm looking forward to experiencing it all and want to show off my strengths."

In 59 Bundesliga appearances for TSG, SC Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Grifo has scored six goals and picked up 16 assists. In 77 Bundesliga 2 appearances for Dynamo Dresden, FSV Frankfurt and SC Freiburg, he scored 22 times and got 25 assists. "Last season didn't go as planned for Vince but he's shown in the past what he's capable of at the top level. We're convinced that there is an environment here in which he can get back to that very top level," said Alexander Rosen.
