Kevin Vogt: "I'm happy to be here"
Welcome to TSG, Kevin. What were your reasons for the transfer from Cologne to the Kraichgau?
Kevin Vogt: Above all, I was convinced by the positive conversations I had with the manager and Alexander Rosen. I was really impressed with how hard TSG have worked. This is why the decision was made so quickly to go ahead with the transfer.
What impression has Julian Nagelsmann made on you?
Vogt: He is very direct and has a clear plan of what he wants to do. The work that has been done in the past six months speaks for itself. I have regained my confidence with these clear targets in place, and so for me it was clear that I should take this step.
There is a former TSG player at Köln in Anthony Modeste. Did you talk to him about the club before making your decision?
Vogt: Tony always spoke very fondly of his time with Hoffenheim, but I consciously held back in discussing that topic. I didn’t know how my decision would go down and wanted to figure out my own impression of the club, rather than letting myself be influenced. However, in the coming days I will definitely speak with him, as I get on really well with Tony. I’m sure he will be able to tell me one or two stories.
What do you personally expect from this move?
Vogt: I want to develop further as an athlete and I definitely think that the facilities are in place at Hoffenheim to achieve that. There is enormous quality to be found in the team, and they really showed this in the second half of the season under Julian Nagelsmann. It would be great if I could make a big contribution and help to take the club back to where they belong. I’m really looking forward to that.
What are your first impressions?
Vogt: It is exciting for me und much of it is very new. I am glad that the transfer is official and I can now arrive at the club. Next, I need to sort myself out, where I’m going to live, and I need to arrange everything so that I’m ready to begin at the start of July. Until now I have only heard good things about the conditions at TSG and my first impression hasn’t spoiled that.
