Tobias Strobl: "I'm very thankful to TSG"

Tobias Strobl will no longer be wearing the TSG shirt next year. The defensive all-rounder will play for Borussia Mönchengladbach from the beginning of the 2016/17 season.

Strobl came to Hoffenheim in 2011 and to date has played 80 times in the Bundesliga, 10 times in the DFB Cup and 26 times in the Regionalliga. In the seven remaining games this season, the 25-year-old naturally wants to give everything to try and keep Hoffenheim up. "My entire focus is centred on keeping TSG in the Bundesliga. I'll do everything I can to leave Hoffenheim on the back of a success," said Strobl.

On his upcoming venture, he said: "I'm very thankful to have got my big chance in Hoffenheim and to have been able to develop further here. I have a lot to be grateful to the club for, but I'm really looking forward to my new challenge in Gladbach."

Director of football Alexander Rosen explained: "We're obviously sad to see Tobi go and we tried everything to keep him here. He's been an important part of our team in recent years, both on and off the pitch, but after five years in Hoffenheim he wants to test himself in a new environment. We have to accept this decision."
