Tarik Elyounoussi scores in Norway victory

Tarik Elyounoussi and his Norwegian teammates could celebrate an important qualifying victory in their quest to reach the 2016 European Championship in France. Per-Mathias Högmo's team beat Bulgaria 2-1 in the Osloer Ullevaal Stadium.

The victory means Norway are currently third in Group H behind Croatia and Italy, both of whom have a 100% record. Elyounoussi – who has scored four goals in seven Bundesliga appearances this season – played a crucial role in the success. He put Norway in front in the 13th minute after good build-up play from Ciljan Skjelbred. The TSG attacker was substituted in the 83rd minute.

Nikolay Bodurov equalised for the visitors just before the interval, with the home side's winner coming 18 minutes from time thanks to Harvard Nielsen. Norway have two more international fixtures in November – a friendly against Estonia is followed by the final qualifier of the year away to Azerbaijan.

Germany U20s clinch second place in tournament

The Four Nations Tournament in the Netherlands drew to a close for the Germany U20 national team with a 1-1 draw against the hosts in Harkema, Friesland. 1860 Munich's Julian Weigl made it 1-0 to Frank Wormuth's team, which also featured Hoffenheim players Kevin Akpoguma for the full 90 minutes and Janik Haberer in the second-half. Vincent Janssen scored the equaliser for the Netherlands in the 77th minute. Niklas Süle, who was in the U20 squad, had to return to Germany prior the match due to a thumb injury.

Wormuth's XI finished the tournament in second place behind England. “Our performance in the first-half was outstanding. That was the best 45 minutes that this group has played,” said the delighted manager. “We should've made it 2-0 or 3-0 early on. There weren't many chances, but we pressed and tested in the second-half.”
