“We're very happy that the club has been able to keep Roberto Firmino, a hugely important part of this young team, here in Hoffenheim,” said chairman of the board at TSG, Peter Rettig.

Alexander Rosen, sporting director at Hoffenheim, sees the 22-year-old as “a player with incredible ability, who has developed immensely in the last year under Markus Gisdol.” As of matchday 26 this season, the Brazilian has bagged 13 goals and is second in the Bundesliga's points-scorer charts (goals + assists).

Firmino, who will make his 100th Bundesliga appearance for TSG in the match against Hannover on Wednesday night, said: “I feel very much at home here. I like the path that the club is on. We play exciting football, the team spirit is great and I will continue working hard to help the team as much as I can in the future.”
