Volland extends contract until 2017

Hoffenheim and Kevin Volland have agreed on a contract extension – until 2017 - well before the end of his current deal. The attacker has been under contract with TSG since 2011, but didn't feature until the summer of 2012, having returned from a one-year loan at TSV 1860 München.

The 20-year-old attacker scored six goals and assisted 12 last Bundesliga season. The contract details remain undisclosed.

Alexander Rosen, head of professional football, sees a “big talent, whose commitment to the club and the philosophy is pleasing. In his first Bundesliga year, Kevin showed his exceptional talent. He is a very ambitious but also relaxed young man, and he fits perfectly into our squad.”

Speaking about his own contract extension, Volland said: “We had a difficult year. But, thanks to a great team spirit and a brilliant manager, we were able to celebrate an incredible finish. I am really happy here and I am pleased with the way that Hoffenheim are going. I want to continue on this path with them.”
