Vukcevic says thank you for support

Hoffenheim's midfielder Boris Vukcevic has seen a further improvement in his health. The 22-year-old incurred a serious head injury on the 28th September when he was involved in a car accident. Vukcevic spent seven weeks in a coma. Since then, Vukcevic has improved and can now verbally communicate. The team at the rehab clinic are working intensively to improve the mobility of the Bundesliga star.

TSG-Manager Andreas Müller: “We are delighted with the good news and it takes precedence. A few weeks ago, it was hardly expected that Boris' recovery would develop so quickly. We are absolutely delighted and will continue to give him all the support he needs.”

Vukcevic sent a message to his parents on Sunday, thanking everyone for their support over recent weeks: “Above all I want to thank everyone at Hoffenheim for their support during this difficult time. I send all my regards to them and ask them only to give me the peace and time I need to get my life back.”

A visit from TSG sporting director Andreas Müller and former manager Markus Babbel is planned but has yet to be fixed. Müller added: “The lad needs his peace. Any sort of fuss can have an adverse effect on him. As a result, we do of course respect the agreement we have made with his parents.”
