Ibisevic ruled out of season opener
1899 Hoffenheim have been struck a cruel blow with just over a week left until the start of the 2011/12 Bundesliga season, as star striker Vedad Ibisevic, has been ruled out for the foreseeable future with a thigh injury.
The Bosnian international who didn't have the best of season last year, picked up the injury in training on Wednesday and will has been ordered to rest over the coming weeks. He will face an assessment of the injury later this week to determine a more accurate return date. For the time being Ibisevic is certainly going to miss the DFB Pokal 1st round match against Germania Windeck and is likely to be unavailable for the season opener against Hannover 96 as well.
