TSG Hoffenheim agree long-term extension with Arthur Chaves

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim have extended the contract of Brazilian centre-back Arthur Chaves ahead of schedule on a long-term basis.

“Arthur has developed excellently over the past year, establishing himself in the Bundesliga in a short space of time and also impressing with consistently good performances in the Europa League,” said Andreas Schicker, TSG’s sporting director, going on to add: “We are delighted that Arthur has committed his future to the club by extending his contract early and that he sees his future here in Hoffenheim. We are convinced that his sporting development is far from over, that he still has a lot of potential and that we will be successful together.”

“I am very happy to have extended my contract with TSG Hoffenheim for the long term,” said Arthur Chaves, commenting on his contract extension in Kraichgau. “Last summer, TSG gave me the opportunity to prove myself in one of the five best leagues in Europe, and I am very grateful to the club and its management for that. I am convinced that we are on the right track here in Hoffenheim and am therefore very positive about our future together.”

Arthur Chaves joined TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2024 from Portuguese second-tier side Academico Viseu. In his first season for TSG, Chaves made 26 appearances in the Bundesliga (one goal), two appearances in the DFB-Pokal (one goal) and six appearances in the Europa League.

Since making his debut for Brazil’s U23 national team in January 2024, the centre-back has played six games for the Seleção at this level and was a regular in qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, which Brazil ultimately missed out on.
