Goodspeed, Leogang!

The training camp in Austrian city Leogang has come to an end. The 1899-contingent have ended their intensive twelve day training camp and have returned to Kraichgau. Before the players will continue their season preparation, they can look forward to two days break. Training resumes on Wednesday.

Lots of rain, little sun: But the verdict of head coach Ralf Rangnick is nonetheless positive: "The training camp was overall very positive. We worked intensively and were able to avoid sustaining serious injuries. On Sunday morning the players and the coaching staff said their goodbyes. A last picture was taken in front of the hotel and the baggage was stored in the bus which was soon on its way to a very special final adventure for the players. The destination was not Salzburg airport, but a Canyoning-Tour near Lofer. The guides were already waiting and equipped with helmets, wetsuits and the necessary instructions, the players engaged in the rather unusual activity. There was plenty of anticipation among the players, that entered the water in several groups, each guided by two professional guides. Luis Gustavo looked a bit nervous but joyfully gave the thumps up afterwards.

The flight to Mannheim departed at 3p.m. and after 90 minutes 1899 Hoffenheim safely landed back in Germany. Once they arrived at the training grounds in Zuzenhausen, everyone soon split up to enjoy their well deserved two days off.
