Successful loans - TSG first team players make a strong impression
Fisnik Asllani (SV Elversberg)
Fisnik Asllani proved to be an absolute hit at Elversberg: the centre forward boasts an exceptional record of 19 goals and nine assists in 37 competitive games for "Elv". Like Damar, the 22-year-old made a significant contribution to the village club sensationally being in with a chance of promotion to the Bundesliga. His performance did not go unnoticed by "kicker" - the football magazine named the striker "Player of the Game" eight times - more than any other player in the second Bundesliga. Just as impressive were his nine nominations for the "Team of the Round."
Muhammed Damar (SV Elversberg)
The 21-year-old played in offensive midfield for the second league team, and proved himself to be dangerous in front of the goal and strong on the ball. Damar had a spectacular season at Elversberg, scoring nine goals in 34 competitive games and providing a further six assists - and all this after he had hardly been given any time on the pitch while on loan to Hannover 96 the previous season. Damar was also an absolute anchor when the team from the Saarland were on the attack. Many Bundesliga teams wanted to sign him, but Damar chose a long-term extension of his contract at TSG Hoffenheim.
Nahuel Noll (SpVgg Greuther Fürth)
The goalkeeper was at the Franconian second league team for the whole season. He was their regular goalkeeper and a worthy successor of his predecessor in the Fürth goal, Jonas Urbig, who now plays for FC Bayern Munich. In 31 competitive games the now-22-year-old kept a clean sheet three times and helped SpVgg to avoid relegation. He also saved two penalties - and in doing so secured two important points for the Franconians in these games.
Tim Drexler (1. FC Nürnberg)
Following his loan in the winter, the now-20-year-old soon secured a regular spot at Nürnberg and made a strong impression in the second league as a powerful centre-back. Drexler also contributed one goal and one assist in 14 games for coach Miroslav Klose's team - the loan paid off for all parties.
Bambasé Conté (Karlsruher SC)
The 21-year-old played a total of 29 competitive games for Karlsruher SC, gathering regular experience of time on the pitch, and fortunately made it through the season without serious injury. Particularly in the final phase of the season, Conté became a key player in Christian Eichner's team. The flexible offensive player scored two goals and provided a further six assists.
Joshua Quarshie (SpVgg Greuther Fürth)
Two second league teams in one season: the centre-back started the season at Fortuna Düsseldorf and transferred to Fürth in the winter. There, the 20-year-old immediately secured a regular spot and made a strong impression with his convincing performances. His reward for a total of 20 second league games this season: in summer, the German national youth player will be transferring to English team FC Southampton, who were recently relegated from the Premier League.
Florian Grillitsch (Real Valladolid)
The midfielder made 13 appearances for the Spanish first league team after his transfer in the winter, but was unable to prevent them from being relegated. The 29-year-old played in central defence and offensive midfield for Valladolid.
Mergim Berisha (FC Augsburg)
The 27-year-old striker was loaned to Bundesliga team FC Augsburg in the winter. As a result of persistent thigh problems, he only played two competitive games for FCA and came away without scoring a goal.
Attila Szalai (Standard Lüttich)
The Hungarian centre-back also went on loan over the winter break. The 27-year-old went on to play five games for Belgian first league team Standard Lüttich.
