Luka Đurić extends contract and edges closer to first-team squad

Luka Đurić has signed his first professional contract: the Sinsheim native will continue to lace his boots for TSG Hoffenheim in the 2025/26 season. The 21-year-old remains part of the U23s' plans but is set to gain increased exposure to the Bundesliga squad.

Đurić, who was born in Sinsheim and has always worn the TSG Hoffenheim shirt throughout his youth and adult careers, can look back on a strong season for "Hoffe zwo" in the Regionalliga Südwest. Across 32 appearances, the midfielder scored 13 goals and also set up his team-mates on five occasions. At the end of April, he helped the U23s achieve promotion to the 3. Liga thanks to a 2-1 victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt II. Đurić scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot, sparking scenes of celebration.

On the topic of penalties: the attacker, whose parents come from Bosnia & Herzegovina (father Nebojša once played for TSG too) showed extremely strong nerves from the spot last season, finding the back of the net eight times from eight attempts. In the internal "Hoffe zwo" goalscoring charts, he ultimately finished in second place behind David Mokwa (20 goals).

His performances over the course of the 2024/25 season increasingly put him on the radar of the first-team squad. Đurić was named in the Bundesliga squad (against Bayer Leverkusen on 2 February) and also made two squad appearances in the Europa League (against Tottenham Hotspur on 23 January and at RSC Anderlecht on 30 January).

The 21-year-old, who has often trained with the first team in recent months, is now set to gain even more exposure. At the same time, the focus is on the job at hand with "Hoffe zwo". "We've achieved promotion and are now playing in the 3. Liga. I'm looking forward to that!" said Đurić, who is brimming with excitement for next season, which – one way or another – will be his first in a professional league.
