TSG tie Bambasé Conté to long-term contract, loan to Elversberg

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim have prematurely extended the contract of striker Bambasé Conté, which was set to expire in 2026, on a long-term basis. The 21-year-old attacking player will join second-division club SV Elversberg on loan for the coming season.

"Bambasé has already shown the extraordinary capabilities that he possesses over and over again during his time at TSG. We believe that he has the potential to establish himself in our Bundesliga squad in the future. Unfortunately, he has frequently been set back by injuries in the past, which has impacted his development here in Hoffenheim. Last season, Bamba made a total of 29 appearances for Karlsruher SC and recorded a number of goals and assists too. This loan was therefore very positive for all parties," said Andreas Schicker, the Managing Director for Sport at TSG, who went on to add: "To ensure that Bamba is able to build on this good development from last season and take the next step in his career, we have decided together with him to opt for another loan to ambitious second-tier club SV Elversberg. We have recently had very good experiences with loans to Elversberg through the likes of Mo Damar and Fisnik Asllani, and are therefore convinced that Bamba will also be able to develop optimally there."

Bambasé Conté moved from the 1. FC Kaiserslautern youth system to Hoffenheim in July 2018. In the 2023/24 season, Conté made seven appearances for the TSG first team in the Bundesliga and also played once in the DFB-Pokal. Since his move from FCK to the Kraichgau, the attacker has also made a total of 23 appearances for Hoffenheim's Regionalliga team, notching six goals and seven assists. The 21-year-old striker spent last season on loan at second-tier Karlsruher SC, where he made 26 appearances in the second division (one goal) and played in three DFB-Pokal ties (one goal). Conté has already played twice for the Germany U20 national team, having previously also played just as many games for the DFB's U16 national team.
