TSG and MVV open modern MVV e-charging park at the PreZero Arena

Bundesliga football club TSG Hoffenheim and Business Team Partner MVV have jointly realised a major sustainability project. The first MVV eLadepark at a Bundesliga football club site has now been opened. Six charging points at three fast-charging stations enable charging with up to 300 kW. The stations are now open to the public around the clock for all electric car drivers. Further charging points are already being planned.

Together for a sustainable future: Bundesliga football club TSG Hoffenheim and Mannheim-based energy company MVV officially opened the new MVV eLadepark at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim today. With currently six charging points at three fast-charging stations, which enable charging capacities of up to 300 kilowatts, the partnership is sending out a strong signal in favour of electromobility and climate protection. In a further expansion stage, a further 4 charging points at 2 fast-charging stations can be added as an option. The charging park is now open to the public around the clock and offers drivers a quick and convenient way to charge their electric vehicle.

A milestone for electromobility in the region.

The new charging park was officially opened by Tim Jost, Managing director of marketing & sales at TSG Hoffenheim, Ralf Klöpfer, sales director at MVV, Daniel Jung, managing director of the MVV subsidiary MVV Regioplan, and Marco Siesing, mayor of the city of Sinsheim. "TSG and MVV have a long-standing partnership that pursues not only sporting but also sustainable goals. With the MVV eLadepark, we are taking another step towards more environmentally friendly mobility. eMobility is also part of our corporate goal of zero waste," explained Tim Jost.

Convenience and innovation for e-mobilists

The charging park not only offers state-of-the-art fast-charging technology, but also a pleasant place to stay. An air-conditioned container with seating, drinks and snack vending machines as well as a fan merchandise vending machine ensures comfort during the charging process. A special highlight for football fans is a table football table, which shortens the waiting time until the end of the charging process.

"With the MVV eLadepark at the PreZero Arena, we are sending a strong message in support of the mobility transition and creating important infrastructure for the region," explained Ralf Klöpfer, adding: "We are particularly pleased to be opening our fifth MVV eLadepark in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region at a Bundesliga football club and at the same time putting the 400th charging point in our network into operation."

MVV Regioplan developed and coordinated the project together with the Bundesliga football club. "The new MVV eLadepark at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim is an excellent example of how to realise an innovative large-scale project together," said Daniel Jung, managing director of MVV Regioplan, in his words of thanks to everyone involved in the cooperation.

Sustainable mobility for all

The MVV eLadepark is not only accessible to visitors to the PreZero Arena, but to all electric car drivers. Using the charging points is straightforward and flexible: users can use the free "MVV eMotion" app, scan QR codes, use their RFID charging card or, in the near future, start the charging process using a bank card via the credit card terminal. All charging points supply 100 per cent green electricity from renewable energy sources - certified by TÜV Süd.

A strong network for the region

MVV has been continuously expanding the charging infrastructure in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region since 2017. With over 400 charging points at more than 150 locations, the company is actively helping to promote electromobility.

Lord Mayor Marco Siesing emphasised the importance of the project for the city of Sinsheim: "The MVV eLadepark is an important milestone on our path to the mobility transition and the decarbonisation of transport. It shows how innovative partnerships like the one between TSG Hoffenheim and MVV can make a real difference. I would like to thank MVV and TSG Hoffenheim for their great commitment to promoting electromobility in our city."

Looking to the future, TSG Hoffenheim and MVV are planning to add more charging stations to the Sinsheim charging park.
