Rudy: ''We deserved to come away with more''

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 1-1 draw away to Union Berlin.

Sebastian Rudy: ''We deserved to come away with more today. We showed a brilliant reaction and we controlled the game. Unfortunately we didn't score enough goals and that means we're going home with just one point instead of three. We were really sharp and switched-on in all phases of the match. We're just lacking that little bit of luck in front of goal at the moment. We're creating the chances, but we're just not finishing enough of them.''

Ryan Sessegnon: ''It was a pretty even game, but we had the chances to win it. It looked like we were there, but then it gets pulled back for offside. I think that on another day we might have scored three or four today. We're going into every game thinking we want to win it.''

Ihlas Bebou: ''It was a hard-fought match today. We wanted to give it our all to get the win. We're not entirely satisfied with the point, because we would have preferred to have all three. That's why we're a little bit gutted. We played really well as a team today. We have to keep a cool head in front of goal, then we'll be able to score more goals again.''

Alexander Rosen on media reports regarding an alleged search for a new coach: ''There is absolutely nothing to it. It's a lie. It's seemingly become normal to make completely ungrounded claims.''

Alexander Rosen on the game: ''We delivered a classy performance today and were by far the better team. The lads gave a fantastic reaction against a team that are unbeaten in their last ten home games.''

Sebastian Hoeness: ''Today we saw the reaction we had hoped for after being knocked out the Europa League. We got off to a great start but then ended up going a goal down. After that, we saw an impressive team performance. We managed to prevent Union from even coming close to threatening our goal. We had far more chances, and although we're proud to an extent, we're still disappointed that we couldn't get the win.''

Urs Fischer (Union Berlin coach): ''It was a fortunate but nonetheless well-earned point for us today. We weren't happy with how the first half went. We started the game well, but then Hoffenheim took control. You could see the quality TSG have. We were able to implement our plan better in the second half.''
