First training session under Hoeness

TSG Hoffenheim's preparations for the 2020/21 season began on Wednesday as they held their first team training session under new head coach Sebastian Hoeness.

Football returned on Wednesday as TSG Hoffenheim completed their first team training session of the 2020/21 campaign after a summer break that lasted over five weeks. The new head coach Sebastian Hoeness welcomed 28 players to the training ground in Zuzenhausen this afternoon, among them newcomer Mijat Gaćinović and the quartet of Kevin Vogt, Joshua Brenet, Kasim Adams and João Klauss de Mello, who have all returned from loans. Håvard Nordtveit and Maximilian Beier missed out through injury, while Sargis Adamyan trained individually.

"I'm happy that we're finally on the training ground together and I'm now looking forward to getting to know the team on the pitch as well," Sebastian Hoeness told journalists shortly before his first session as head coach.

Following a team talk, the players divided into smaller groups and began to complete various training exercises. The conditions were perfect and the sun was shining as TSG completed their first training session, which lasted approximately 90 minutes. "We want to gradually bring the team up to the required fitness level and are looking forward to the coming weeks," Hoeness said.

TSG Hoffenheim's next training session is scheduled to take place on Thursday morning at 11:00 CET. TSG will play their first friendly fixture against SV Wehen Wiesbaden on 13 August (15:30 CET). Unfortunately, all friendlies, training sessions and the training camp at Lake Tegernsee have to take place behind closed doors due to the coronavirus.
