Marco Terrazzino leaves TSG

One year before his contract expires, forward Marco Terrazzino is leaving TSG-Hoffenheim and joining fellow Bundesliga side SC Freiburg with immediate effect. The 26-year-old came to Kraichgau on a free transfer at the start of the 2016/17 season from second division side VfL Bochum.

“Marco is not only a great guy, but he is also a highly motivated and ambitious player who wants to get more game time than he did last season. With this in mind, he decided that joining Freiburg would be better for his career than staying with us,” says the TSG Footballing Director, Alexander Rosen. Terrazzino stated, “I have felt at home here at TSG, and last season was fantastic for the development of my career. For that I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.”

The player from Mannheim made nine Bundesliga appearances last season. He ended the campaign with one goal and three assists to his name. In the DFB-Pokal, Terrazzino assisted two goals against 1. FC Germania Egestorf/Langreder.

Terrazino played for TSG at youth level, and won the German Under-17 Bundesliga with the club in the 2007/08 season. On 31 January 2009 he finally made his Bundesliga debut for TSG when he was brought on shortly before the final whistle in the 2-0 win against Energie Cottbus. Freiburg won’t be unfamiliar ground either for the 26-year-old, as he played in South Baden from 2012 to 2014. During this time he made eight Bundesliga appearances for SC Freiburg.
