Paderborn match reaction

We caught up with Markus Gisdol, André Breitenreiter and a few of the players after the 0-0 draw with SC Paderborn.

Markus Gisdol:It was a tricky game, exactly as I had expected. After a decent first-half performance, I was hoping that we could up the ante after the break. The sending-off obviously didn't help us. It is definitely a point gained today.

André Breitenreiter:We were the better team over the 90 minutes. It was a very good performance but unfortunately Oliver Baumann in the TSG goal stood in our way. He was simply unbeatable today. It was a fantastic reaction from my team following last weekend's defeat and we didn't allow Hoffenheim to create any real chances. I believe in my team and am certain that we'll end our goal drought soon.

Oliver Baumann:I don't think that the referee needed to send Ermin off as he also played the ball. It was obviously difficult afterwards because we only had ten players and Paderborn played very well. We didn't carve out enough chances going forward today. After the game, we have to be pleased about coming away with a point. I tried to shout clear commands to my team and that helped us to be more solid and resolute in defence.

Ermin Bicakcic:We performed very well. We were solid in the first half but we should have done better with some of our chances. We went into the second half with a lot of confidence but then I got sent off. I'm a fair player and hardly ever commit fouls. I would have preferred a telling-off and final warning from the referee. At the end of the day, we have to be happy that it finished 0-0. We need to use the international break to gather our strength and recharge the batteries.

Andreas Beck:We created a lot more chances and were closer to scoring a goal in the first half. We were reduced to just defending after the sending-off and Paderborn then had the better goalscoring opportunities. I think that 0-0 is a fair result. Oliver Baumann put in a solid performance to keep a clean sheet, just like last week. That's obviously a big help for the team.
