Assistant coach Peter Zeidler will take over training duties for the next few days. Ralf Rangnick had the following to say: "Due to the life-threatening illness of my father, I do not feel I am in the right frame of mind to coach 1899 Hoffenheim to the best of my ability at this moment in time. Following talks with the management I have decided to hand over training duties to my assistant Peter Zeidler for the time being. As soon as the situation has passed, I will return to my role at full strength and with all my usual passion."
Hoffenheim head coach Ralf Rangnick will miss his team's return to training on Sunday, as well as the other sessions throughout the week, citing personal reasons.
