TSG Hoffenheim agree on long-term contract extension with Muhammed Damar

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim and Muhammed Damar are stepping into the future together. The Kraichgau club have extended the 21-year-old attacking player's contract, which was due to expire on 30 June 2026. Damar has penned a new, long-term deal with Hoffenheim.

"Mo is a highly talented player with enormous technical ability and an exceptional understanding of the game, who more than just hinted at his great potential time and again during his loan to SV Elversberg last season," said Andreas Schicker, managing director of sport at TSG Hoffenheim. "The loan to Elversberg worked out perfectly for both Mo and us. He became a regular in the second tier there and was able to prove his ability time and again at a high level. We are delighted that Mo has decided in favour of a long-term extension with TSG despite many other high-calibre offers. We are all convinced that he will continue to develop positively, enrich the team and bring us a lot of joy in the future."

"I'm delighted to have extended my contract at Hoffenheim on a long-term basis," said Damar on signing for TSG, adding: "The club is very close to my heart, I know a lot of players from the current squad, many members of staff and from the office, so I won't need any time to settle in. This environment will really help me to perform at my best."

Muhammed Damar moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Kraichgau in July 2022 and played six Bundesliga games and 20 games for TSG's Regionalliga team (seven goals) in his first season at Hoffenheim. In the 2023/2024 season, Damar joined Hannover 96 on loan in the Bundesliga 2 (eight appearances) and the Regionalliga Nord (eight appearances, nine goals, three assists). This season, the 21-year-old attacking player made a big name for himself in the Bundesliga 2 playing for SV Elversberg.

Damar was loaned to the Saarland club by TSG at the start of the season in order to gain as many minutes as possible at a good level. In 31 games for SVE so far, the Berlin native has scored nine goals and assisted a further six. Damar has also qualified for the relegation play-off with Elversberg and will now represent the Saarland side in the play-off against 1. FC Heidenheim with a place in the Bundesliga at stake

Damar has also played for Germany at every youth level from U18 onwards and currently plays for the U20 national team. He has scored one goal in four appearances to date. Prior to that, he scored six goals in eight games for the German U19 team.
