Ilzer: "It was perhaps a golden point"
Anton Stach: "I don't know what I should say about the way we started the match. That cannot happen. After that, we fought our way in and came away with a point. There was more in it, but when you're caught napping in the opening stages again and chasing the game, you have to be satisfied sometimes. I also cannot explain what it's down to. It happens too often. We need to solve this pattern. We would've liked to have won today and sealed our survival. Unfortunately, we haven't managed it yet and are now looking over at Heidenheim."
Marius Bülter: "We conceded two unnecessary goals. I didn't do well for the goal to make it 1-0. The goal for 2-1 following a set-piece is bitter, otherwise we actually did well as we didn't give much away. We got lucky in stoppage time. The goal for 1-0 today happened because I made a mistake. But it speaks volumes about the team that we always came back. Adam played a super ball to me for the goal for 2-2. I considered whether I should shoot first-time but it worked out as it was. The point was extremely important today. We're now crossing our fingers for Union against Heidenheim, then we'll have managed it."
Leo Østigård: "We conceded a goal too easily right at the beginning. It happened too quickly; unfortunately, I was involved. That's football. But after that we played well and had several chances. The point was deserved and really important, but we want to end the season on a good note against Bayern Munich."
Christian Ilzer: "If you exclude the phase right at the end and the phase at the start, we defended well. There was a lot of pressure on our shoulders but we did well, even if we should've defended better in some situations. The goal in off the post at the end made for a fortunate point, but perhaps also a golden one. We should've simply cleared the ball prior to the goal for 1-0, but Bülti made up for it in attack. It has been the story of the season that we've needed to concede a goal for us to wake up, but it's also been the story of the season that we came back again. We're focusing on FC Bayern, but we're looking forward to a longer pre-season to work on our team."
Andreas Schicker: "We got off to a very bad start. It was actually a good game after that, which is why it was probably a fair draw in the end, especially when you see VfL's last chance. The team is alive and has picked up an important point. We have mixed feelings about taking one point. We're not yet over the line and would've preferred to win. Now we're looking over at the rest of the games tomorrow and will also give everything against FC Bayern. We don't need to sugarcoat anything; we've picked up few points, a lot has happened this season. It was clear early on that it would be all about survival. We will make one or two adjustments in the summer to make things better. We knew that it would be a long path with Christian Ilzer, and that path started this season."
Daniel Bauer (VfL Wolfsburg coach): "It's disappointing in the end because we shouldn't have given away the 2-1 lead. The lads showed passion, even if we did have weaker phases in the first half and were too passive. But there was a lot on display. We can build on the second half. I also cannot say why we were too passive after the opening goal. We wanted to make attacking changes at the break; that worked out well. Things should go better next Saturday."
