Draw for the DFB-Pokal first round on Sunday

The draw for the first round of the 2023/24 DFB-Pokal campaign will take place on Sunday (18 July, 17:10 CET). Pole vaulter Sarah Vogel will pull out the names at the German Football Museum in Dortmund and determine TSG Hoffenheim's first competitive opponent of the new season in the process. The Kraichgau club could face any one of 32 opponents – from the 2. Bundesliga to the Oberliga.

TSG Hoffenheim have travelled away to North Rhine-Westphalia in the first round of the cup in the last two seasons. Hoffenheim beat SV Rödinghausen 2-0 after extra-time in 2022, having reached the next round courtesy of a victory away to Viktoria Köln (3-2 AET) a year earlier. The Cologne outfit could also be TSG's opponents next season, while Rödinghausen have not qualified. A local clash with FC-Astoria Walldorf in the first round, which will take place from 11 to 14 August, is also possible. The men from Walldorf won the Landespokal Baden and thus qualified for the DFB-Pokal for the third time in the club's history.
