TSG pick up a hard-earned point in Frankfurt

TSG Hoffenheim may have missed out on a much desired win, but they can still hold theirs head up after a spirited performance resulted in a 2-2 (1-1) draw away to Eintracht Frankfurt. TSG took the lead through an own goal by Evan Ndicka (12), but Ndicka and Daichi Kamada both scored to turn the game on its head. However, TSG weren't done and managed to gain a point thanks to a 78th-minute goal from substitute Georginio.

Personnel and tactics:

Head coach Sebastian Hoeness made three changes to his starting XI from the 0-0 draw against SpVgg Greuther Fürth, as Kevin Akpoguma, Angelo Stiller and Jacob Bruun Larsen came in to replace Chris Richards, Pavel Kadeřábek and Christoph Baumgartner. Akpoguma, Kevin Vogt and Stefan Posch formed the back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Ihlas Bebou and David Raum started out wide. Stiller and Diadie Samassékou formed a double pivot in midfield. Bruun Larsen and Andrej Kramarić played behind lone striker Munas Dabbur.

Håvard Nordtveit came on in place of Akpoguma for the second half. After falling behind, Hoeness brought on Georginio and Sebastian Rudy for Bruun Larsen and Samassékou (67). In addition, Robert Skov came on for Dabbur in the final minutes (87) and Kasim Adams replaced the injured Nordtveit (89).

Moment of the match:

There was a chance of victory right until the end: Ihlas Bebou did well to work himself into space before squaring the ball to Andrej Kramarić. The Croatian unleashed a shot on goal but Kevin Trapp prevented a late winner with a strong save.

Number of the game: 18

Georginio's goal in the 78th minute to draw the sides level at 2-2 was TSG Hoffenheim's 18th goal in the final 15 minutes this season - more than any other team in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Trapp – Tuta, Hinteregger, Ndicka – Knauff (86, Paciencia), Jakic (79, Sow), Rode (67, Hrustic), Kostic – Lindström (79, Ache), Kamada – Borre (67, Hauge)

Frankfurt almost make it 1-1 from a corner: Ndicka leaps up high and meets the ball with a powerful header which looks destined for the left corner but ends up flying just wide of the mark.

Down the other end it's almost 2-0: the ball lands at the feet of Dabbur, who turns and directs a shot towards the far-corner, but Trapp dives at full stretch to make an excellent save.

32. Min.

Baumann makes a top save to deny Kostic from long range, but the equaliser comes from the resultant corner. Ndicka finds himself all alone to nod home Kostic's delivery.

39. Min.

A massive chance for Frankfurt to make it 2-1: Kostic drives down the left and squares the ball into the middle towards Lindström, who catches the ball perfectly as he drills a shot destined for the roof of the net, but Baumann gets his hand up to make an extraordinary save.

51. Min.

90. Min.

A big chance to win it at the death: Bebou drives forward and slips a pass to Kramarić, who unleashes a shot on goal. Trapp is able to get a hand to it and prevent TSG from snatching all three points.
