Bitter news for Håvard Nordtveit and TSG Hoffenheim: the Norwegian will miss the remaining three matches of the season. The defender sustained an injury in the 2-2 draw away to Eintracht Frankfurt and had to be substituted. The diagnosis has now revealed that he tore a ligament in the back of his right thigh. The TSG player will undergo an operation in the coming days.
"It's just tragic. I feel extremely sorry and hurt for him. He's an incredible team player. It doesn't feel right and it's not easy to process," TSG coach Sebastian Hoeness said in the aftermath of the match in Frankfurt.
Håvard Nordveit will leave TSG Hoffenheim at the end of the season. Nordtveit moved to TSG from West Ham United in 2017 and made 74 competitive appearances for Hoffenheim, scoring one goal.
