Posch heads TSG to victory in Cologne

Deserved victory in Cologne: TSG Hoffenheim ran out 1-0 (0-0) winners away at 1. FC Cologne. Stefan Posch scored in the 61st minute to give TSG the victory. Hoffenheim wasted numerous opportunities, especially in the first half, but still came away with all three points. The win takes Sebastian Hoeness' side up to fourth in the table.

Personnel and tactics:

Head coach Sebastian Hoeness made three changes to his starting eleven from the 2-1 win against VfB Stuttgart. Kevin Akpoguma, Diadie Samassékou and Angelo Stiller came into the starting lineup in place of Benjamin Hübner, Dennis Geiger and Georginio. Akpoguma joined Florian Grillitsch and Stefan Posch to form the back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann, with Pavel Kadeřábek and David Raum starting as wing-backs. Samassékou sat in front of the defence, with Stiller and derby hero Christoph Baumgartner operating behind the two forwards Ihlas Bebou and Andrej Kramarić.

Hoeness looked to his bench for the first time on 56 minutes, bringing on Georginio to replace Bebou. In the closing stages, Munas Dabbur and Kevin Vogt replaced Kramarić and Akpoguma on 78 minutes. Kasim Adams also came on for Samassékou in injury time (90+1).

Moment of the match:

The 61st minute: after a well-worked free-kick, David Raum put the perfect cross in from the left to the far post, where Stefan Posch climbed above his defender to head home, giving TSG what would be the decisive 1-0 lead.

Number of game: 16

Ihlas Bebou's header against the post in 46th minute was already the 16th time TSG have struck the woodwork in the Bundesliga this season – the most in the league.
